Every Wednesday night we meet ... ... at 6:30pm, for a Meal & Fellowship (served in foyer, please enter the building through the door with the Celebrate Recovery banner, the church office door) ... at 7:00pm, we have a large group meeting for praise & worship, learning the 12 steps and their biblical comparisons as well as the 8 recovery principles, acknowledging anyone who has had a recovery anniversary or birthday, a teaching or testimony pertaining to our recoveries, and we end with the Prayer for Serenity. You can find the 12 Steps and Their Biblical Comparisons and the 8 Recovery Principles at our information table in the foyer of the church or at our online information table. ... at 7:45pm, we break into small groups (men & women) where we have an open sharing time usually focused on the evening's testimony or teaching. We also use this time to share any prayer requests and we pray for each other as well. In the future, we hope to have more recovery specific groups (Men's and women's codependency, chemical addiction, food addiction or eating disorder, divorce recovery, etc ...). If you feel led to begin a specific group, please contact us and we will let you know how to become a leader. ... at 8:30pm, we have RECOVERY CAFE and this is where we have refreshments of some sort. We also use this time to get to know others and hopefully as a time to connect with an accountability partner or a sponsor. |
Our Small Group Guidelines 1. Keep your sharing focused on your own thoughts and feelings. Please limit your sharing to 3-5 minutes. 2. There is NO cross talk, please. Cross talk is when two people engage in dialogue during the meeting. Each person is free to express feelings without interruptions. 3. We are here to support one another. W will not attempt to "fix" another. 4. Anonymity and confidentiality are basic requirements. What is shared in the group stays in the group. The only exception is when someone threatens to injure themselves or others. Here's our anonymity statement you can use to remember this: What you see here, Who you see here, What you hear here, When you leave here, Let it stay here!! Here, Hear, Here!! 5. Offensive language has no place in a Christ-centered recovery group, including no graphic descriptions. You can get a copy of these guidelines and any detailed explanations of these guidelines at our information table in the foyer of the church or at our online information table. |
